Warmere eerste lente maanden, teken eerder actief!

Warmer first spring months, draw more active!

After the dark, wet, chilly winter months, we are eager to enjoy the first spring sun. The website tekenradar.nl warns that ticks are emerging from their winter dormancy earlier because the first months of the year have been warmer than normal.

First reports already received

There have already been dozens of reports of tick bites and infections with Lyme disease. Figures from the RIVM show that people get 1.5 million tick bites every year. Not every tick is infected. Approximately 27,000 people get Lyme disease, of whom 1,000 to 1,500 people have long-term complaints.

Although ticks are most active in the summer, it is also wise to be aware of how to prevent a tick bite in the spring and fall. Cover body parts with long sleeves and trouser legs and a cap or hat. In addition, use, for example, Teekaway, a 100% natural product, to rub onto your skin. This product contains essential oils that ticks have an aversion to. This reduces the chance of a bite.

Be prepared when you set off

With our First Aid Kit you will be well prepared on your way. It contains four products that you can use immediately in the event of a tick bite: a Tick card to properly remove the tick (just like a tick remover), Teekaway, Wandelrood Cream with natural ingredients for the bite site and Teasel Tincture.

In addition, it is good to ensure that your resistance is up to par. With a healthy and vital body, you have less chance of an infection manifesting itself in Lyme symptoms. Your mindset is also important in this. Don't let it stop you from fully enjoying the nature around you!
