Latin name: Lamium Album. The White Dead-nettle is seen by many as a weed but it is a herb like the stinging nettle. It looks a lot like the stinging nettle except that it has white flowers and does not sting. White Dead-nettle also does not belong to the family of the stinging nettle.
The leaves and flowers of this plant can be eaten as a vegetable and the dried leaves can be used to make tea. Other common names for White Dead Nettle are: Sugar Nettle, Sucking Flowers, Nettle Herb, Cock's Head or Soft Nettle. It is called Sugar Nettle and Sucking Flower because the flowers were sucked out by children.
White deadnettle is a spring herb that is often used in spring cures.
