Latin name: Gynostemma pentaphyllum. The herb is hand-picked in the natural areas of the Chinese province of Hunan. Only young leaves are picked and these are dried and processed in such a way that they are damaged as little as possible. Carefully dried and cut. Free of pesticides and artificial fertilizers.
To be used as a tea. A few leaves (± teaspoon of dried leaf) per cup of tea. Or two teaspoons for a liter. Pour boiled water over the dried leaf, let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes, do not boil.
The taste of Jiaogulan "Makino" is described as full, sweet, not bitter.
