Latin name: Artemisia Annua. Also known as summer asem, Zoete Alsem or annual Bijvoet. In English, the plant is also called Sweet Annie.
Artemisia Annua is a camping-like-smelling plant with a bright green fine ferny leaves and inconspicuous small green-like flowers.
It is a native plant in China and this powerful herb in traditional Chinese medicine has been recommended for more than 2000 years. Due to its medicinal effect, Artemisia Annua is also mentioned in the current pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China. This herb is now also known in other countries, among other things due to the ‘arteminisin’ contents. For example, it is appreciated in Africa and it is part of the Buhner Protocol.
