Product description

The name 'Sambucus' refers to the old name for elder tree and means 'nigra', 'black', referring to the black berries, which later turn red when ripe. The redder the berries, the riper the elder and this ripening process occurs in September, October.
The elderberry is native to Europe, Western Siberia, North Africa and North America. The elderberry bush is a tall shrub or small tree that grows to 6 to 8 metres high. It has its flowering habit from May to July with beautiful pink-white umbels on which berries develop.
